John P. Stella, DDS, FACS is from a hardworking first-generation American family and was exposed to the art of oral and maxillofacial surgery while working in the steel business that his father started after arriving in the United States.

Dr. Stella completed his undergraduate degree at State University of New York at Binghamton in 1980 and went on to earn his DDS degree at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in 1984. It was during his residency at Parkland Hospital that Dr. Stella discovered all that the specialty of oral maxillofacial surgery had to offer, and he immediately desired to use intricate surgeries in the face to help change lives for the better.
