Dr. Schwartz then completed his hospital-based residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was an assistant resident in the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine. As an assistant professor in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Schwartz trained residents in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He has also served as the principal investigator in numerous research studies involving the development of pain medications.
